At St Christopher’s we offer our students a curriculum which is broad, balanced and relevant to every one of our learners at both Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3. Our curriculum allows individual students to make as much progress as possible in the key subject areas of Maths, English, Science, Humanities, PSHEe, Art and PE.
Assessments upon entry and exit are carried out in English, Maths and Science in order to gauge the amount of progress that our students have made while they are at St Christopher’s. A range of extra-curricular activities also enrich and supplement the main programme such as the Forest Schools programme at Key Stage 2. The curriculum is also enriched by a wealth of other activities on offer such as field trips, theatre visits, sporting events, drama productions, charity events and art exhibitions.
To help our students become well rounded members of society they all study PSHEe/Citizenship either through timetabled lessons or flexi-days at Key Stage 2 and 3. Issues such as financial management, study skills, Sex and Relationships Education, Britishness and what it means to be British are studied. To support these programmes there is a high level of engagement with the local community.
